Nothing is kept once this tab is gone. Closing or reloading it loses your answers. Save a file to keep them — you can load it back later.
Nothing is stored on our side, so this file is the only copy of your answers. It is ordinary text and contains the names you entered — keep it somewhere private, and note that if you lose it there is no way for us to recover it.

Estate value (optional)
Enter what remains after funeral costs and debts. Leaving it blank still gives you the shares as fractions.
Bequests — the wasiyyah
Up to one third may be left to people and causes outside the fixed shares. Enter each as a percentage of the estate.
Shares recalculated. 4 heirs take a share.
Distribution
| Heir | Share | Percent |
|---|---|---|
Wife One eighth, shared equally, the deceased having left a child or a son's child. | 1/8 | 12.50% |
Son Takes the residue, two shares to the male against one to the female. | 7/16 | 43.75% |
Daughters (2) Takes the residue alongside, one share to the female against two to the male. | 7/16 7/32 each | 43.75% |
The fraction is what governs, and it is the share of what the heirs divide. Percentages are rounded to total exactly 100, so two heirs holding an identical fraction can differ by a hundredth.
This distribution is identical under all four Sunni schools of law.
This calculates the religious shares only. In the United States a surviving spouse can usually claim a statutory minimum against the will regardless of these figures, and retirement accounts and life insurance pass by beneficiary designation without ever entering the estate.
